Villa Tiadoro is comfortably loaded with Tuscan ambiance, expansive interiors and modern comforts. For any itinerary involving multiple outings, this villa's position is akin to a bullseye. Villa Tiadoro is ringed by Florence, Cortona, Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino as well as locations in nearby Umbria: Perugia, Lake Trasimeno and Orvieto. The farthest points are an uncomplicated hour's drive on easy paved roads from the villa's main gates.
Easy access continues unabated throughout the property. Villa Tiadoro is the centerpiece of a centuries old farming estate built entirely on level land. The front entrance, marked by five, arched glass doors allows plenty of natural light and multiple ways to reach a welcoming shaded outdoor dining area equipped with a BBQ. Beside the outdoor dining area is an enclosed wood burning oven with a marble topped prep counter. This area forms the perfect backdrop for a proper welcome aperitif which the owner has thoughtfully included in the price. On arrival day, guests are greeted with a sampling of local wine, cheese, bread and cured meats.
Once inside the villa, terracotta floors, authentic wood beams, vaulted ceilings and brick archways flow from one spacious room into the next. Villa Tiadoro was restored to entertain. The open hearth fireplace living room adjoins the dining room on one side, a billiard room on the other and a large restaurant grade kitchen to the rear. Each room opens to the grounds.
The art of Italian hospitality revolves around food. Pizza making, Tuscan cooking classes, grill nights and traditional Tuscan dinners are all available, upon request.
Each of Tiadoro's six bedrooms is air conditioned and simply adorned. Two ground floor bedrooms are truly oversized suites and are ideal for those needing fewer steps. A mid-week refresh cleaning and towel change are included in the price.
The swimming pool sits directly behind the villa on a well-tended, level lawn maintained by a friendly and unobtrusive live-in caretaker. She occupies a small independent corner apartment on the top floor of the farmhouse with its own external egress. The pool opens early in May and is complemented by a covered area equipped with tables, chairs and a relaxing hammock.
The pool area is insulated by dense shrubbery from a vast tract of wheat and sunflower fields that reach the autostrada's edge one third of a mile away.
Reaching Villa Tiadoro is a breeze. The farmhouse is set between two picturesque villages with each being within an eight minute drive. Monte San Savino offers a number of local shops, restaurants, cafes, two supermarkets and entrance to the A1 autostrada. Lucignano, seen from the villa's outdoor dining area, is a more compact medieval delight, built in concentric circles and ideal for leisurely after dinner strolls - gelato in hand. Lucignano is among Italy's most musical towns, renowned for its Maggiolata festival during the last two weekends in May.
Sinalunga with access to the east/west roadway into Umbria or the designer outlets of Valdichiana are each 20 minutes away by car; the antique shops of Arezzo: 25; the wineries of Montepulciano or the lakeside promenade along Lake Trasimeno: 35; Cortona: 40; medieval Siena or Renaissance Pienza: 45; the art capitals of Florence, Perugia or Orvieto: 60.
