General Description
Logistically perfect, Santa Lucia in Chianti lies halfway between Siena and Florence and in walking distance of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. Newly restored, this estate consists of a farmhouse divided into these four apartments and a separate villa, 30 yards away, housing the two units on the prior page along with a reception office, open daily from 9 am to 10:30 am, except on Sunday.

While the pool is shared by all residents, each party has their own furnished covered patio and garden area delineated by seamless landscaping.

Each unit is tastefully decorated in a pastel color with country style furnishings of the highest quality. Original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings add to the charm. Each apartment offers an equal ratio of beds to baths as well as air conditioning, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a toaster and a US-style coffee maker. Mirtillo, Amarena and Pistacchio each have one bedroom on their upper floor leading to a furnished terrace enclosed by latticed brickwork. In Mirtillo and Pistacchio, these same bedrooms have a separate French balcony. All of the units except Crema have heated towel racks.

Included in the price is a morning visit to the owner's olive oil facility followed by a tasting. November guests get to see olives being harvested and pressed for oil. For an additional cost, maid service, meals and tours of local wineries may be arranged.

Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, half a mile away, offers a couple of restaurants, some shops and a supermarket. A museum of sacred art opens on weekends. The outdoor market is on Thursday. A bus with regular service to Florence stops 100 yards from the estate.

By car, the Firenze-Siena highway is 10 minutes away; Barberino Val d'Elsa: 15; Castellina, San Gimignano or Monteriggioni: 30; Siena or Florence: 45; Lucca or Arezzo: 60; Montalcino or Pisa: 90.
