Immersed in the gently rolling green hills of the Valpantena and surrounded by prized Valpolicella vineyards, Villa Veronese offers a private and spacious non-smoking home. Verona - the city of Romeo & Juliet is within an uncomplicated 25 minute drive. From this location, discover the diversity of the Veneto region including vineyards, mountains, lakes, art cities and of course, Venice. Venturing into Emilia Romagna whose cities are known as "the kitchens of Italy" is another possibility.

Stunning vistas over the vineyards and olive groves are enjoyed from a cool breezy, covered portico that's set just above the pool area and is furnished for dining and lounging. Villa Veronese's owner grows grapes that are used in some of Italy's finest wines, such as Amarone, Valpolicella and Recioto. Part of the grounds are dedicated to olives groves and a small cherry orchard is a just few hundred yards away. A groundskeeper tends to the estate and the landscaping around the villa daily. While no wine is produced on-site, guests fascinated by the art of winemaking can experience the sights and sounds of the annual harvest firsthand during the latter part of September.

Inside, Villa Veronese is defined by a capacious living and dining room specifically designed for entertaining with an overhead loft housing a billiard room. Each bedroom has its own marble clad bathroom. Two bathrooms are equipped with both a tub and a separate shower stall. All the bedrooms are air conditioned as of June 2012. Three bedrooms have screened windows, while the fourth has a balcony door. Two baskets of firewood are included in the price.

Planning a sightseeing itinerary from Villa Veronese is a challenge given the vast possibilities. Try to spend at least one day up north in the Lessinia mountains, a secret retreat favored by the Veronese people for the cool summer climate and solid winter skiing. Bosco Chiesanuova, the main resort town in these mountains is 25 minutes north. Every weekend at 4 pm, krapfen pastries are served in the church square. Molina, within 45 minutes, is a charming medieval village with a botanical museum and a waterfall park, Parco delle Cascate with wooded trails.

The tiny village of Romagnano, one mile away, has a shop for basic groceries. In Grezzana, less than 10 minutes by car are shops, a few restaurants, café bars and a pharmacy. A 15 minute drive leads to the A4 autostrada and to Verona within 25 minutes. Soave, known for its white wine is a 30 minute drive; Lake Garda's signature themepark, Gardaland: 45, the art cities of Vicenza or Mantova: 50: St. Anthony's Basilica in Padova: 60; Bassano del Grappa with grappa distilleries or Modena: 90: Venice, Asiago or Parma: 100: the Dolomite mountains, Ferrara, Bologna or Milan: 2 hours.
