Everything you ever wanted in a Tuscan home awaits you at Villa Maria. Beautiful views, easy proximity to Florence and Siena, helpful English-speaking owners residing next door and most of all a lovingly restored villa that’s ideal for you and your children.
On a level slightly below the house, the furnished pool occupies a panoramic setting with a separate shallow end for children and a heated Jacuzzi tub off to one side. The pool is open from May to mid-October and is shared with the owner and her family.
Two outdoor seating areas for guests include a barbecue equipped patio that extends from the living room onto a level lawn for youthful frolicking and a canvas covered gazebo for shade. The owner’s cat and dog, while friendly, know no such boundaries and freely roam the entire 80 acre estate.
Inside, Villa Maria is strikingly attractive. A spacious layout incorporates Tuscan style architecture, soothing color schemes and comfortable, good quality furnishings to provide the first of many lasting impressions. Completely restored, this villa enjoys a bevy of modern amenities including air conditioning, window screens, a washer and dryer, a laptop with Wi-Fi access, flat screen televisions for every bedroom and a larger screen in the living room with a wide array of programming that includes movie channels with English translation.
Of the five bathrooms, two have doors at either end connecting each of them to two bedrooms. In a sense, they are en suite and shared at the same time.
Conveniently included in the rental price are: air conditioning, a three hour mid week cleaning with a towel change, five bicycles, two baskets of firewood and Wi-Fi access. Upon arrival, guests are warmly greeted with a glass of wine and bruschette.
In this case, having a friendly owner nearby also means access to services, advice and fun-filled itineraries. Along with meals and more maid service, Maria, the owner is willing to conduct Tuesday or Thursday morning cooking classes that begin with a trip to an open-air market to select ingredients and end with a fabulous lunch. Or maybe you prefer wine tasting in a castle? Olive oil? Why not try them all? Whatever you decide, tell us when booking to secure these unique adventures for you.
