16th century farmstead - After an extensive three year renovation, Villa la Serena successfully blends an ancient structure with the modern comforts of today's home. Architects have beautifully showcased the authentic features: stone walls, bricked arches, wood beam ceilings and terracotta tile flooring are found throughout. All the furnishings and fixtures are of the highest quality. Several light fixtures are one-of-a-kind works of contemporary art. The ground level living and dining room are enormous rooms connected by high brick arches.
Interior Amenities: All of the windows and kitchen doors are screened. All of the bedrooms have their own en suite bathrooms with portable hairdryers. For entertainment, an iPad mini may be used as a PC and a programmable sound system with speakers affixed to the living room and the two outdoor dining areas.
Layout Notes: Bedrooms vary in shapes and color schemes. There are two bedroom suites that are nearly double the size of the other bedrooms and have a sitting area. Accessing the first floor bedroom suite requires either walking through another bedroom or using an external staircase from the garden. There are two fully covered, outdoor dining areas: the pool cottage is just a few feet from the front entry and on the opposite side of the villa, a loggia patio is just off of the kitchen.
