|In keeping with the villa's 18th century style, Carrera offers large, high ceilinged rooms, many decorated with original frescoes. Furnishings are a tasteful blend of quality contemporary furnishings accented by period antiques.|
|This property is located beside the village of Torrita di Siena; however a car is necessary since there is no public transit.|
|The kitchen is equipped with commercial grade appliances including six burner stovetop, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, toaster and US-style coffee maker.|

|Just inside the main gate of the estate are two buildings separated from the villa by hedges and a gravel parking area that are occasionally used by the staff as office and storage for farm equipment.
The villa's professional kitchen, though well equipped, is compact in size.
The town's weekly outdoor market takes place on Friday morning, just outside the villa's main gate. During market days guests must use a secondary gate.

|Guests may be dropped off at the main entrance. There are 23 steps to reach the bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor or the elevator (51 x 31 inches) services all three levels.|
|A portable cellular phone is made available at check-in. The phone is typically charged with 25 or 50 Euro worth of calling time. Guests only pay for the usage consumed. If you require additional minutes, please ask your keyholder for assistance.
|Villa Carrera is within a 200 yard walk from a medieval Tuscan town. Walk to restaurants, cafes and shops.
Just outside the main gates of the villa is a small children's park with slides and swings. Great for families with young children.

The villa is the centerpiece of a multi-acre olive growing estate featuring wide level lawns and cultivated gardens offering plenty of unrestricted outdoor space.
On arrival guests are treated to a complimentary sampling of estate olive oil and wines available for onsite purchase.

|After exiting the A1 highway, the four mile drive leading to the villa is along very easy and level paved roads.|

|Due to the height of the villa, the best views extending across the neighboring town to scenic countryside are enjoyed from the living room and most of the bedrooms, particularly those facing the rear or poolside that look out across olive groves and rolling Tuscan hills. Three bedrooms overlook sheltering pine trees. The pool and patio are positioned toward the idyllic country scenery. The outdoor dining pergola is on the town side of the villa and faces shrubs and greenery.|

|Nearest Shopping and Dining: Open the villa's gated entry and walk to a cafe bar and pizzeria within 100 yards. Within a third of a mile walk, there is a small grocer, a butcher shop, a restaurant and a pharmacy. Drive 10-12 minutes to Montepulciano or Sinalunga with an assortment of fine restaurants, pizzerias, café bars and wine shops. Within half a mile of the villa, there is a supermarket in Torrita di Siena, open on Saturday until 8 pm and on Sunday mornings. There are three supermarkets in Sinalunga.
Not To Be Missed:
In Cortona, 30-minute drive, is the Museum of the Etruscan Academy located in the historic 13th century Palazzo Casali. The museum exhibits an impressive collection of archaeological material and artistic items. Open year round. Closed on Mondays.
- Monte Oliveto Maggiore, the most well known monastery in Tuscany, walk the cloisters and visit the shop where the monks sell liquors, ceramics and herbal remedies, 40 minute drive.
Public Transportation: The closest main train station with service to Rome is located in Chiusi, a 35 minute drive. The journey takes 80-90 minutes.
Golf: Golf Club Valdichiana - Within a 15 minute drive. Open year round. Closed on Wednesdays from November to February.
- August: In Pienza, August 14th is celebrated as the night of the Assumption with historic buildings opening their courtyards, and a torch light procession ends with fireworks.
- August: During the last week, Montepulciano hosts Bravio delle Botti, a race between the 8 contrada or neighborhoods with 50 pound wine barrels carried through the historic center. Dinners and games take place all week long.
- September: Pienza's Fiera del Cacio or cheese festival takes place on the first Sunday.
Open Air Markets: Morning markets are held in Chiusi on Tuesdays; in Chianciano Terme on Wednesdays; Montepulciano on Thursdays; in Pienza, Sarteano, Torrita di Siena or Montalcino on Fridays and in Cortona or Cetona on Saturday mornings.
