|13th century medieval tower - A chic loft-style ambiance is created with contemporary furnishings, exposed brick walls, picture windows and beamed ceilings.
Interior amenities - All bedrooms, the main living room and the study are air conditioned. Each bathroom has a hairdryer.
Layout notes – Each of the three floors has a bedroom and bathroom, allowing for privacy when rented by three couples. The third level bedroom, encompassing the entire top floor is an open room located atop the staircase leading up from the study.
|This property is located within a city or town. A car is strongly recommended. The town is serviced by bus with returning service from neighboring towns ending at 8:30 pm.|

|Guests must be very agile in order to manage the number of steep steps between levels. A luggage porter is provided for arrival and departure days.

|Walk 550 uphill yards on cobblestones and up 60 steep internal steps from the entrance to the second level with a bedroom, bathroom and living room. If arriving by car, guests may enter the piazza with a rental car to drop off at the building entrance on arrival and departure days only.|
|The landline phone inside the villa is for incoming calls only. On arrival day, guests are required to call the keyholder to coordinate arrival at a meeting point outside the town walls; therefore, having international service on your cell phone is required.|

Walk out your front door to find restaurants, cafe bars, gelaterie and boutique shops - Zafferano is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares.

|Shopping and Dining: San Gimignano is a compact medieval hill town with numerous cafe, pizzerie, restaurants, specialty grocers, wine shops, bakeries and artisan shops within walking distance. A cafe bar, ATM and two gelato shops are located in Piazza della Cisterna, right outside the property entrance. The COOP supermarket in San Gimignano is located just outside the town walls and is open on Saturday evenings until 8 pm.
Internet Points: San Gimignano has two Internet points: "Internet Train" inside the enoteca D!Vineria, located in Piazzetta delle Erbe; inside the "Bar Pasticceria Boboli" on Via San Giovanni.
Public Transportation: Bus service is the only public transit in San Gimignano and the buses are a 550 yard walk from the house. There is frequent bus service to Poggibonsi, a neighboring town with a bus and train station that connects to cities such as Florence and Siena. Bus service to Poggibonsi begins at 6 am and ends at 8:30 pm. Certaldo, a 15 minute drive away, also offers frequent train service to Florence.
Beaches: Within an 80-90 minute drive are the sandy beaches of the Tuscan coast.
Swimming Pools: During the summer months, there are community swimming pools in the Santa Lucia neighborhood near San Gimignano (10 minute drive) and in Colle Val d'Elsa (20 minute drive). There is a daily entrance fee per person and sunbeds along with umbrellas can be rented. The Castelfalfi Golf resort, rated five stars, offers a day pass allowing use of the swimming pool area with sensational views over the countryside and a poolside cafe serving cocktails and a light lunch menu - a total resort experience.
Golf & Spa: Castelfalfi Golf Resort & Country Club (35 minute drive) features an 18-hole Mountain course, a 9-hole Lake course, driving range, swimming pool, tennis courts and a full service spa with massage and facial treatments. Open year round.
Open Air Markets: Right outside your entrance door, San Gimignano's morning market is held on Thursday in Piazza della Cisterna and Piazza Duomo. On Saturday mornings, one is held in Piazza dell' Erbe. Other neighboring towns' morning markets are held on Tuesday in Poggibonsi, on Wednesday in Siena and Certaldo and on Saturday in Volterra.
