Interior Décor
Smartly decorated townhouse with good quality furnishings and screened windows. Perfect size for a couple with small, cozy rooms that are all separated by a few steps. The single sofabed is in an open room at the top of the stairway leading from the kitchen.

This property is located within a city or town; however a car is necessary.

Narrow galley style kitchen with a gas stove top, oven, large fridge and dishwasher. It is stocked with an abundance of cookware.

Limited Parking
Parking is not available at this property. Both paid and free parking lots are available at a considerable distance away.

Being in the historic center of town, parking requires at least a 350 yard walk; however, the owner provides a permit to allow a luggage drop within 50 yards. No children under the age of 12 are allowed.

There is no internet service in the house. There are internet cafes in the town.

No Smoking
This property is strictly for non-smokers.

Steps & Stairs
Walk 350 yards from the commercial parking or 400 yards and 100 stairs from the free parking to the entrance. Guests and luggage may be dropped off 50 yards from the entrance. There are scattered steps between all rooms and a narrow stairway to the open room with single sofabed.

A portable cellular phone is available and upon arrival, is charged with 25 or 50 Euro. Guests pay for all calls made. The keyholder may assist with replenishing the usage card if necessary.

A well restored townhouse with a small furnished balcony that's decorated as a home away from home.

Alabastro offers the allure of living in a medieval Italian hill town and walking to a neighboring cafe for morning cappuccino and ending the day with an evening stroll to one of several restaurants within a few minutes walk.

By car and on foot. The owner can provide a permit to allow access to the center of town so guests and luggage may be dropped off within 50 yards of the entrance. The closest commerical parking is 350 yards and an unpaid lot is 400 yards and 100 steps away.

Property has screened windows.

Satellite Basic package - A limited number of channels with most of them being Italian. There are one or two news channels in the English language.

Views of the town of Volterra, surrounding homes, a few vegetable gardens and fields in the distance may be seen from inside, especially from the bedroom and kitchen French doors.

Shopping and Dining: A supermarket, smaller food shops and a choice of restaurants are just 50 yards away with a larger selection of restaurants, cafes and shopping at 150 yards away, along the main streets.

Not To Be Missed: The alabaster workshops in Volterra where it is possible to see an artisan at work and purchase pieces. Volterra has one of the best Etruscan museums, Museo Guarnacci open mid-March through October. This private collection was donated to Volterra with funery urns dating back to 4 BC.

Internet Points: There are a handful of Internet cafes in Volterra with the most interesting being Web and Wine on Via all' Arco, a cafe that doubles as a wine bar.

Beaches: Within a 30 minute drive are the sandy beaches of the Tuscan coast.

Hiking: Just 15 minutes east of Volterra, there are several paths through the woods starting from Mazzolla.

Open Air Markets: Morning markets are held in Pomarance on Thursdays, in Saline di Volterra on Tuesdays and in Volterra on Saturday mornings in the main square.
