Not To Be Missed: Visit the ancient ruins of Eloro, a 10 minute drive. In Noto, the Baroque Spring festival held in the month of May, sixteen different artists cover the street with their own unique design of flowers, 10 minute drive. In the fishing town of Marzamemi or Marsa al Hamen, as it was originally known, you may visit the ruins of a Roman shipwreck. Marzamemi is the backdrop of many Italian movies due to the extraordinary sea views, 30 minute drive.

Feasts: In Avola, the feast of San Sebastiano is held on the second Sunday of May. In Noto, the Primavera Barocca or the Baroque Spring Festival is held during the third week of May from a Thursday to Saturday. In Siracusa, the feast of Santa Lucia is held on the 13th of December.
